Job Description

The IT Asset & Support Assistant is responsible for managing IT hardware and software assets while providing technical support to internal users. You will help ensure smooth IT operations across the organization, maintaining equipment, tracking inventory, and assisting users with technical issues. This is an entry-level to mid-level role suitable for candidates looking to start or grow their IT support career.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets including laptops, desktops, servers, and peripherals.
  • Track asset lifecycle from procurement to decommissioning.
  • Provide first-level IT support to staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Assist in the setup and deployment of new devices to employees.
  • Collaborate with IT teams for asset audits, software licensing, and compliance tasks.
  • Log and escalate support tickets as needed to senior IT staff.
  • Ensure IT policies and security protocols are adhered to during asset management and support activities.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of IT hardware and software: laptops, desktops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Familiarity with IT service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy).
  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN).
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Experience with asset tracking and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux basic knowledge).

Education / Qualifications
  • Certificate III/IV or Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent.
