We are seeking an ambitious Accountant to join our Melbourne-based team. Reporting to the Director, this hands-on role will manage day-to-day accounting activities across several business units, ensuring accuracy in reporting, compliance, and month-end processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations, payments, and cash management for clients
  • Manage month-end closings, including journal entries, accruals, and preparation of management reports for clients
  • Support annual statutory lodgements and other compliance requirements
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register on a monthly basis
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and ensure completion within set deadlines
  • Maintain accurate financial records using Xero, QuickBooks, and MYOB
  • Reconcile bank accounts and ledgers
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cashflow tracking
  • Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS and assist with tax compliance
  • Support quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial reporting
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and demonstrate strong professional integrity
  • Manage stock reconciliations, invoicing, and credit control reporting
  • Contribute to process improvements and maintain high standards of accuracy and accountability
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or working towards is advantageous)
  • Minimum 1 year of accounting experience, ideally across accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero and MYOB
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment
