Job Description

At Macro Meat Processing Pty Ltd, we are a leading producer of premium-quality kangaroo, wild boar, and venison meat products. As part of Macro Group Australia, we are committed to delivering superior products while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. We are currently seeking an experienced quality control inspector to join our team and uphold the quality standards that define our brand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet all quality and safety standards.
  • Compliance with Food Safety Regulations: Ensure that products comply with all relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and FSANZ (Food Standards Australia New Zealand).
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspections, including deviations from standards, corrective actions, and compliance data. Prepare reports for senior management.
  • Monitoring Production Processes: Monitor the production lines for adherence to quality control procedures, identifying and reporting any quality issues promptly.
  • Conduct Sampling and Testing: Perform random sampling and testing of products to verify consistency and adherence to quality specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the production team, supervisors, and management to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest and help implement improvements to processes and systems that enhance product quality and minimize defects.

 

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Previous Experience: Proven experience in a Quality Control role, preferably in the food or meat processing industry.
  • Knowledge of Quality Standards: Solid understanding of food safety standards and quality control practices (e.g., HACCP, FSANZ, ISO).
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect product defects or non-conformance during inspections.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and implement corrective actions to ensure product quality.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to document and report inspection results, and collaborate with team members and management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using measurement tools and equipment for quality control purposes.
  • Health & Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with workplace health and safety standards and the ability to follow strict safety protocols.
