Job Description

A Retail Sales Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with sales, and supporting the day-to-day operations of a retail store. This role ensures that customers receive accurate product information and a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful assistance.
  • Assist customers in selecting products, answering questions, and making purchase decisions.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, stock displays, and organization.
  • Restock shelves, manage inventory, and assist with stocktaking.
  • Handle customer complaints or queries professionally.
  • Support store promotions, marketing campaigns, and product launches.
  • Assist team members and management with daily store operations.
Required Skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic cash handling and POS operation skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Teamwork and adaptability.
  • Basic product knowledge and willingness to learn about tools and equipment.
Qualifications
  • High School Certificate (Year 12) or equivalent.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic computer literacy (POS systems, email, and inventory software).
  • Knowledge of tools and industrial products is an advantage.
