Our client, Argus Welding & Fabrication Pty Ltd, is looking an experienced Welder to perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding, along with custom fabrication for both industrial and commercial projects.
Tasks Include:
Perform MIG, and ARC welding on steel, aluminium and other metals to manufacture and repair and related components.
Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings and technical documents to accurately fabricate components.
Fit and weld metal components with precision, ensuring alignment and structural integrity.
Conduct inspections of completed welds to ensure adherence to safety standards and specifications.
Identify and correct any defects or inconsistencies in the welds (by welding, cutting or grinding), ensuring the final product meets quality control standards.
Monitoring the heat and temperature of the welding process to avoid overheating and ensure proper penetration.
Grinding and smoothing welded joints to achieve a clean finish and meet surface standards.
Maintaining accurate records of welding activities, including materials used, tasks completed, and any defects found.
Work closely with other team members to meet production timelines.
Provide input during production meetings to help identify potential issues and solutions in the manufacturing process.
Operate welding equipment, cutting tools, and machinery following safety guidelines and procedures.
Maintain welding equipment and tools, conducting regular checks to ensure they are in proper working condition.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), maintain a safe work area and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and other requirements
Have a Certificate III qualification or higher in welding/fabricating.
At least 1 year of experience as a welder in the last 5 years.
Familiarity with metal properties, welding quality control and industry standards.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
Good physical fitness and stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.
Solid awareness of health and safety requirements.
Benefits
Competitive salary package between $75,000 and $85,000 per year.
