Monitor sanitation, equipment cleanliness and workplace practices to ensure compliance with Freshcare and HACCP food-safety standards.
Inspect packaging, storage facilities and transportation conditions to maintain hygiene, temperature control and product integrity throughout the supply chain.
Verify that product grading, labelling and packaging meet agricultural regulations and quality specifications.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, non-compliance issues and corrective actions.
Measure Brix levels to determine sugar content and assess produce maturity and quality.
Assist supervisors in implementing pest-control and disease-management strategies.
Guide staff and seasonal workers on hygiene, compliance and safe produce-handling practices.
Collect and submit samples for laboratory analysis, including quality and nutritional testing.
Identify and reject products that fail to meet required quality and food-safety standards.
Report non-compliance matters and support the implementation of corrective actions.
Oversee the calibration, maintenance and correct use of inspection equipment, including moisture meters, weighing scales and sampling tools.
Qualifications
Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Science, Quality Assurance or a related field.
Knowledge of Freshcare, HACCP and food-safety requirements.
Understanding of fruit and vegetable grading and quality standards.
Experience in produce inspection, farming, horticulture or quality control.
Ability to identify pests, diseases, contamination and product defects.
Knowledge of Brix testing and inspection equipment.
Good record-keeping and report-writing skills.
Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Ability to work in farms, packing sheds, storage facilities and outdoor environments.
