Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Retail Buyer to manage the sourcing, selection, and purchasing of organic, natural, and specialty grocery products to meet business objectives and customer demand.

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking skilled professionals to support our product sourcing and retail buying operations.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop and manage product ranges for fresh produce, pantry, dairy, and specialty organic grocery categories in line with business needs and seasonal availability
  • Source and select organic and biodynamic products directly from suppliers, growers, and wholesale markets to maintain a high-quality product range
  • Analyse sales performance, customer demand trends, and market movements to forecast purchasing requirements
  • Conduct regular supplier sourcing and purchasing activities, including early morning market procurement where required
  • Negotiate pricing, order quantities, and supply terms with suppliers and producers
  • Plan and place purchase orders to ensure continuous supply of fresh and packaged grocery items
  • Review product performance and adjust product range, including introduction of new products and discontinuation of underperforming lines
  • Maintain supplier relationships and ensure consistent supply of high-quality organic products
  • Work closely with management to align product selection with customer demand and business strategy
About You
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience as a Retail Buyer, Buyer, or similar commercial purchasing role, preferably within retail grocery or FMCG environments.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Ability to analyse data and make commercially sound decisions
  • Understanding of retail trends, product cycles, and consumer behaviour
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant qualification in business, retail, merchandising, or related field (preferred)
