Job Description

Istanbul Chargrill & Kebab Palace Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and qualified Chef to join our team on a full-time basis at our North Lakes, QLD location.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in planning menus and determining food quantities, portion sizes and costs
Prepare and cook food according to recipes, or based on personal judgement and experience
Monitor food quality, presentation and consistency to ensure high standards are maintained
Manage, supervise and train Cooks and Kitchenhands in food preparation techniques, cooking methods and food safety practices
Order and maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring stock meets daily production and service needs
Collaborate with management to develop new dishes, set menus and improve existing recipes
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient food service
Ensure full compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations within the kitchen
Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, chargrills and other cooking equipment as required
Maintain a clean, organised and compliant kitchen environment at all times
plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Certificate IV in Kitchen management or other relevant qualification.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen environment
Demonstrated experience in menu planning, food costing and kitchen management
Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS standards
Proven ability to lead, train and supervise kitchen staff
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
